Experimenting with line drawing over pattern

So it's still cold, and I'm getting over a cold, and can't go anywhere to sketch snow scenes because I can't get my car out of the driveway.  Instead, I thought I would have a play day.  I decided to try a line drawing over one of my gelli prints, but I saw several papers that I used to wipe my brayer and stamps on, and thought that the drawing would work on these.  I'm also experimenting with a brush pen to make darker, thicker lines, and when to use them.  In hindsight, I could have used a few more thick lines in the flower on the right.  All in all, this was fun and I may do some more of them today.

Another Toned Paper Sketch

It's a cold snowy day, a perfect day to stay home and do some sketching.  This is ink on gray toned paper, with the background in watercolor pencil.

I did this sketch from an old photograph that I found while looking for a good winter scene for my senior watercolor class to paint.
