Paint Tubes

This is a sketch that I did as a "demo" for my virtual watercolor class.  I tried to get the tubes to look like they have been bent and squeezed.  I hope my class has fun with this.

Virtual Hiking and Sketching Again

Back last year, when I was virtually walking the Camino, I sketched the "scenery" that I would see if I were walking it in real life.  I continued to walk but gave up on the sketching at about mile 124.  I didn't choose a new trail when the Camino ended, and forgot about the program (Walk4Fun), but it didn't forget about me.  It chose a new trail for me - The Long Trail in Vermont, and has been recording my steps/miles from my Fitbit.  Isn't technology wonderful?  And scary too, since it was doing this without my knowledge.  Anyway, since I am still walking regularly any way, I decided to stay on the trail and to sketch occasionally.  Here is my sketch from today's "hike".  In real life I walked around my normal neighborhood loop.

Another Self Portrait

Today I "joined" a group of artists who are doing 30 faces in 30 days.  I don't have a good record for keeping up with these things, but I did make a start for Day 1.  This is a self portrait, done from a photo - much easier than doing it from a moving target. I think if actually looks like me. I usually try to avoid teeth, but this was the only recent photo of myself that I could find except for some selfies, and we all know what selfies look like.  Micron Pigma .05 pen, worn enough that I could get fairly light lines.  We will see how the rest of the month goes.
